Victoria Yang is a senior associate at Howie, Sacks & Henry LLP, where she practices plaintiff side personal injury law and class actions. Her practice involves product liability of medical devices and pharmaceutical products, motor vehicle accidents, slip and fall incidents, dog bite incidents, and privacy, amongst others.
Victoria particularly enjoys trial advocacy work. She has argued before the Ontario Superior Court, Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, the License Appeal Tribunal, and Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal. In particular, she has completed several high profile trials, both jury and non-jury. She holds a B.A. (Hons.) from McGill University, and a J.D. from the University of Toronto.
Victoria is an active member of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers – she currently sits on the Board of Directors and chairs the annual conference and gala that brings together more than 600 lawyers from across Canada.
Outside of work, Victoria enjoys Brazilian jiu jitsu, salsa and bachata dancing, and rock climbing. She also thoroughly enjoys travelling off the beaten path, recently coming back from Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
Victoria speaks Shanghainese and Mandarin and is pleased to assist clients requiring communication in these languages.
