Melissa Miller discusses lawsuit against the provincial long-term care ministry on Zoomer Radio

The Ontario Court of Appeal is allowing a class-action lawsuit to proceed against the minister of long-term care for alleged negligence in the governmental response to the COVID 19 pandemic.

HSH Partner Melissa Miller was featured on Fight Back with Libby Znaimer on Zoomer Radio discussing the decision and the difficulty in proceeded with a lawsuit against the government given that, in her words: “The policy reason behind [a government being difficult to sue] is that if you don’t like what the government is doing then elect a new one”.

Melissa is currently in the process of litigating numerous claims of Nursing Home Negligence from before, during and after the pandemic and continues to campaign and raise awareness of the issues that our elderly citizens face on a regular basis.
