ELIMU is hosting a casual after work gathering in Toronto to raise funds in support of their education programs.
Meet Nuna Chung, Founder of ELIMU as she walks you through her journey from taking two boys to kindergarten in 2005 to establishing a sewing project for vulnerable girls to building a school for 100 pupils and finally creating the first digital education resource centre in Malindi.
Over 12 years in Kenya, ELIMU has helped 20 young women gain independence with their own sewing businesses and kept more than 200 kids from dropping out of school. The ELIMU Resource Centre serves up to 300 children a day providing digital books and tutorials for primary and high school students who may never have touched a textbook before. Michael Henry and Renée Vinett of Howie, Sacks & Henry act as ELIMU’s official Canadian ambassadors.
