We are pleased to announce that HSH Partners David Levy and Kaitlyn MacDonell as well as HSH Law Clerk Tania Harris, will be speakers at the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association’s 2026 Spring Conference and Annual Meeting – The Power of Advocacy: 35 Years and Beyond – taking place on Thursday, May 7 and Friday, May 8, 2026 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto.
Kaitlyn will be presenting as part of the conference’s dedicated Long-Term Disability (LTD) Section track, which is designed to deliver advanced strategies and practical guidance for plaintiff lawyers working in disability and insurance litigation.
David will be leading a session titled “Litigation in Limbo: Orders to Continue, Capacity and Ethical Dilemmas in Estates and Guardianship Proceedings”. This session examines the complexities that arise when a client becomes incapacitated during litigation, including Orders to Continue, the role of litigation administrators under the new system, when to involve the Public Guardian and Trustee, and common ethical issues in estates and guardianship proceedings.
Tania will also take the stage as part of the Law Clerk Track. Her session, “From Experience to Impact: How Getting Involved Shaped My Career,” offers insights for law clerks on the value of professional engagement and how active participation in the legal community can shape and advance a career.
This milestone conference marks OTLA’s 35th anniversary and brings together Ontario’s leading plaintiff lawyers, law clerks, paralegals and students for two days of high-level education and advocacy-focused programming across the full spectrum of personal injury law.
