Melissa Miller Speaks on the Documentary “Stolen Time” and Elder Abuse in Ontario on The Social CTV

Melissa Miller, Elder Abuse Lawyer, appears as a guest on The Social CTV

“There is no place for profit in care, for the most vulnerable members of our population” – Melissa Miller

Melissa Miller is an advocate for the most vulnerable members of our population, the elderly. She explains in this interview the cases she represents, who the victims could be and are, the neglect, what needs to change at the systemic level and much more.

“You can’t predict the future of your health and you have nothing without a quality of life” –Melissa Miller

Miller says while these companies rake in profit, she hears stories of diapers locked up. Dehydration, malnutrition, and misdiagnoses are a few examples of all this neglect.

She also says that usually, the staff at the homes aren’t at fault here. “For the most part, the staff are under-resourced, underpaid, and overworked, and they do not have the ability to provide the care that they want to” – Melissa Miller

Melissa is currently in the process of litigating numerous claims of Nursing Home Negligence from before, during and after the pandemic and continues to campaign and raise awareness of the issues that our elderly citizens face regularly.
