Howie, Sacks & Henry welcomes new Associate Pooneh Sooresrafil

Pooneh Sooresrafil - Headshot

Howie, Sacks & Henry is pleased to welcome Pooneh Sooresrafil to the firm as an Associate.

Pooneh practises in all areas of personal injury law, and advises clients with motor vehicle accident, slip and fall, and accident benefits claims. She also supports the firm’s mass torts team and is assisting the firm’s Farsi-speaking clients in pursuing their claims against Ukraine International Airlines as a result of the downing of flight PS752 by the Iranian military in January 2020.

Pooneh joined Howie, Sacks & Henry in 2010 as a legal assistant working with the firm’s medical malpractice team. She has since then studied for and obtained an LLB from the University of Leicester, and a Masters of Law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. We are proud to welcome her back to the firm in her latest role as an Associate.

Pooneh has devoted her time extensively to charitable and community-building activities. While studying at the University of Toronto, she volunteered with University Settlement, a non-for-profit organization helping refugees and newcomers from Iran. During her time in England studying for her LLB, Pooneh joined the Pro Bono society and along with a partner was named the society’s ‘Best Advising Pair.’ Pooneh has also volunteered with the British Red Cross and has served as a Director of the Iranian Canadian Legal Professionals group.

Pooneh is fluent in English and Farsi. She can be reached directly by phone (416-361-0745) or by email (PSooresrafil@hshlawyers.com).
