Renée Vinett Becomes Howie, Sacks & Henry’s Co-Managing Partner

Howie, Sacks & Henry LLP is pleased to announce that Renée Vinett will be serving as Co-Managing Partner of our firm with Paul Miller.

In addition to her distinguished legal career, Renée is a member of the College of Nurses of Ontario with more than 35 years as a registered nurse. Her medical knowledge, experience in disability management in both the United States and Canada, and legal acumen inform her approach to each case. Renée ensures that a client’s needs and their long-term quality of life are always paramount concerns.

Renée’s practice is devoted to bringing her medical and legal experience to bear in all areas of personal injury litigation, including motor vehicle accidents, accident benefits, slip and falls, long-term disability (LTD) and product liability.

Bringing a wealth of experience as both a lawyer and registered nurse to her new role, Renée has successfully conducted numerous trials and hearings before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, and the Licence Appeal Tribunal.

Active in many legal and other professional associations, Renée has been sought out as a lecturer and chair for many continuing legal education programs.

Endorsed by her peers, she is recognized by and listed in The Best Lawyers™ in Canada, The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory and as one of the Top Lawyers for 2023 in Post City Magazine. Renée received recognition as a Specialist in Civil Litigation in 2016.

Renée joins Paul Miller as a co-managing partner.

Serving in this role since January 2023, Paul is renowned as a trailblazer in the field of mass injury and mass casualty lawsuits. As one of the first Canadian litigators to adopt the innovative mass tort model, Paul has been hailed by his legal peers and clients alike for popularizing an alternative to class action lawsuits.

The individualized nature of the mass tort process gives personal injury clients a sense of agency over the course of their lawsuit. Moreover, it is frequently a more effective method to seek compensation when victims harmed by a common cause have experienced differing levels of injury in the context of widely varying personal circumstances.

Working on some of the most socially relevant cases of our time, Paul is recognized both within our firm and beyond as an exceptional lawyer who has been a catalyst for positive change in the personal injury field.

As co-managing partners, we believe Renée and Paul will be a formidable team. Representing our firm’s core values, they will oversee operations at HSH LLP, navigate any challenges, and offer inspiring and dynamic leadership that will undoubtedly propel us to new heights.

Please join us in extending our congratulations to Renée as she and Paul take the first steps together as co-managing partners.
