We have a special relationship with Cheryl and Joe Runstedler. We met them and their charming son Jordan a year ago at the 2014 THREE TO BE gala dinner where we proudly presented him with a Champions Award (below). Sadly, Jordan passed away this Fall, and we were amazed that Cheryl and Joe were so quick to accept our help to establish an award in his honor (outlined below).
HSH was honored to have been invited to this event.
On Monday, November 30th Neil Sacks, Meghan Jull Jacquin, Pamela Foster and their spouses were thrilled to have been included in a private dinner at Carens in Yorkville where Joe is a chef.
Our friends Brenda Agnew and Dana Florence from THREE TO BE were also in attendance
Not only did they host the event, Cheryl and Joe cooked and served a gourmet 3 course dinner.
Jordan’s Christmas Dinner raised money for SickKids ChildLife program, enough to purchase 43 Feel Better Christmas Gifts for kids unable to go home for the holidays. Orinoco Foundation will be matching the donation, bringing a total of 86 gifts which will be handed out this Christmas in Jordan’s honour.
HSH Establishes Memorial Award For Family Fun
Last year at the Stems of Hope Gala, we awarded Cheryl with a Hero Award for her son Jordan. It was such a joy to share with all those who spoke of the tremendous inspiration Jordan was to everyone around him and the determination with which he faced all of the many challenges and obstacles in his life. He was a true miracle baby and a blessing to his family. All of us at Howie, Sacks and Henry were deeply saddened to hear the news of Jordan’s passing in September.
That is why we are so pleased to announce the creation of the Jordan Runstedler Memorial Award. Each year, we will sponsor a $1000 award to be given to a family in the THREE TO BE community, to be used for a truly family experience.

As we have learned from Cheryl and her family, in the end that was all that really mattered – bringing as much joy and opportunity to Jordan’s life and doing what brings happiness as a family. Those are the memories that we hope to play a small role in creating for other families going forward.
Jordan’s mom Cheryl made a touching speech about how blessed they were that Jordan chose them to be his parents and just how much the THREE TO BE PAL community has meant to her and her husband.
