HSH held our annual Open House for the legal community on January 23rd. With only a few weeks until the Winter Olympics we took this opportunity to honour our Canadian athletes.
The event as reported by Precedent Magazine:
High above the Eaton Centre, with a view down onto Queen St., the two floor penthouse offices were entirely transformed to host this annual celebration. Precedent’s favourite juxtaposition was the meat slicer positioned near a wall of files in order to accommodate the delicious roast beef sandwich station. Live music, Canadian flags, red maple leafs, a concession stand, and pine trees all helped heighten the Winter Olympic spirit, but it was the guests of honour that brought it home.
“We host a party every year for our friends and colleagues in the legal community” says managing partner David Levy. “The timing made it possible to show support for our Canadian athletes heading off to Sochi. We were pleased that Walter Gretzky, a friend of the firm, was able to join us. We were also fortunate that Paul Rosen could make it before he heads off to Sochi as CBC color commentator for the Paralympics”.
As a special takeaway, a portrait service was set up to capture keepsake prints for guests who could pose for a photo with Wayne’s dad, Walter Gretzky, or Paul Rosen, the Gold medal goalie from our 2006 Torino games sledge hockey team. In addition to the popular photo station, guests were treated to a swag bag including an HSH toque, and pair of Canadian Olympic mitts, funds from which go to support our athletes.
