Howie, Sacks & Henry continues its long standing support of Hamilton Health Sciences as Gold Sponsor of the 21st Annual ABI Conference on Neurobehavioural Rehabilitation in Acquired Brain Injury. We had our booth at the event and many of our senior lawyers were in attendance to meet with the ABI community.
The event was held May 8 and 9, 2014 at the Hamilton Convention Centre in Hamilton. The theme of this year’s ABI conference was Advances in ABI Technology. Attached is the full ABI Conference brochure.

Organized by Hamilton Health Services, the conference attracts ABI Rehabilitation Professionals, Psychologists, Physicians, Program Planners, Insurance, as well as Legal Representatives and Advocates, with a goal to:
- Enhance understanding of complex issues following brain injury related to forensics, addiction, behaviour, mental health, and pain;
- Review practical approaches to these issues as they relate to impact on recovery, community reintegration, social relationships, health, and rehabilitation;
- Provide an opportunity to network, share experiences and cultivate partnerships.

Aquired Brain Injury Community Services
ABI Community Services is an independent community-based fee for service program within Hamilton Health Sciences’ Acquired Brain Injury Program This program provides community-based rehabilitation and consultative services for individuals with acquired brain injuries who are 16 years of age and older.
All clients referred to ABI Community Services require third party funding which may include the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, insurance companies, or other collaborative agencies.
