Melissa Miller Joins Panel Discussion at the Ontario Nurses’ Association

On June 12, 2024, HSH Partner Melissa Miller will be speaking at the Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) Provincial Coordinators Meeting. The event will be attended by 300 people, including workplace leaders from hospitals, nursing homes, home and community support services, community care, and clinics. As part of the meeting, the ONA will be screening the film “Stolen Time” followed by a panel discussion with Melissa and the film director Helene Klodawsky.

Stolen Time, a National Film Board of Canada Documentary on the urgent crisis in the for-profit nursing home sector, follows HSH elder rights lawyer Melissa Miller and hundreds of aggrieved families as they take on an industry notorious for its lack of transparency and accountability.

Melissa, a nursing home negligence lawyer, is dedicated to advocating for the residents and staff of Long Term Care facilities. She is committed to bringing about broader systemic change in long-term care across Canada and holding corporate for-profit nursing homes accountable for their treatment of vulnerable seniors and the working conditions of nurses and personal support workers who care for them.
