As part of our ongoing commitment to Spinal Cord Injury Ontario (SCI Ontario), we were pleased to be actively involved in this annual Wheelchair Relay which was held on a sunny Sunday, September 20th at Monarch Park Stadium. the theme this year was 70s, with many teams sporting peace signs and afros. The event raised more than $100,000. Congratulations to all the organizers for putting on a tremendous event, all for a great cause.
Results: Top Finishers
Thanks to a great team and an awesome racing chair, this year’s HSH Hurricanes blew away most of the competition, losing out on third place by a mere one second (see results below).
We were more proud for being awarded 2nd prize for corporate fund raising.
Lift your Spirits with “Staying Alive” Wheel Dance
Some of our team members are not only great athletes but talented dancers. Check out Steve, Hans and Shawn as they groove to Staying Alive, still sporting our team head gear. In the crowd you will notice Michael Henry and Renee Vinett enjoying the performance. You can’t help but dance in your own chair watching this clip.
