On Wednesday, April 27, 2021 Melissa Miller and the grassroots advocacy group Canadians4LTC (C4LTC) will join with the Canadian Health Care Coalition, the Ontario Health Care Coalition, and other provincial health care coalitions for a national Day of Action.
The live-streamed event, which builds on the earlier successes of C4LTC’s ‘Broken Hearts, Empty Shoes’ demonstration and the ‘10plus3’ cross-country town hall series, is intended as a show of strength to push politicians in federal and provincial governments to take legislative action on the issue of long-term care standards.
Canadians4LTC was co-founded by HSH Partner Melissa Miller and three like-minded clients to advocate for improved conditions in long-term care homes. In keeping with the group’s focus on creating meaningful change, C4LTC has collaborated with a policy lawyer and provincial and federal health coalitions to develop draft legislation for national standards to share with politicians.
We encourage everyone to join the event on April 27. Please visit the Canadians4LTC Facebook page to watch the event and to learn more about the group and the important work they are doing to protect our vulnerable elderly citizens.
