Recalls for Tabletop Fire Pits
There are inherent dangers when using any product that produces an open flame and significant heat. However, the particular designs, fuel sources, and locations where table-top fire pits are used prompted regulatory agencies to provide additional warnings to users.
Health Canada Tabletop Fire Pit Warnings And Recalls
Although Colsen brand fire pits have not been recalled in Canada to date, Health Canada has issued multiple warnings and recall orders for similar tabletop fire products in recent years. The regulator also released a general warning against using rubbing alcohol products to fuel firepots, firebowls, flamepots, or tabletop fire pits. The Ministry noted that using this flammable substance with these products has led at least two people in Canada to suffer serious burns.
