HSH’s Meghan Hull-Jacquin was quoted in The ADR Institute of Ontario Newsletter. The newsletter discusses the live program and webinar “Mediator Selection – How Do Lawyers and Adjusters Select Mediators?” held by The Insurance Section of the ADR Institute of Ontario (ADRIO) in February 2017.
Meghan served as a panelist in the live program and discussed what she herself looks for when selecting a mediator. Meghan notes that:
She chooses mediators who may not have law or insurance backgrounds, but do understand the main issues of medical malpractice, slips and falls, motor vehicle accidents and nursing home negligence. That knowledge is necessary for the mediator to help achieve the three goals of mediation…: settling the case, narrowing the issues and determining the defence’s top settlement offer and the plaintiff’s lowest offer.
