In its 12th year, this annual charity hockey tournament for the personal injury legal community has raised a total of $500,000 for spinal cord research. Held Thursday April 12, 2018 at Canlan Sports Etobicoke the event raised $44,000.
Proceeds support the Canadian Spinal Research Organization (SCRO), Shoot For A Cure (SFAC) Campaign. SFAC is a fundraising campaign that aims to reduce the incident of spinal cord injuries and neurotrauma in hockey, as well as to fund research to find a cure for paralysis caused by spinal cord injuries.
Part of the proceeds will be going towards treatment for Ryan Straschnitzki of the Humboldt Broncos, who has been paralyzed due to a spinal cord injury. His story.
