Pooneh’s journey to become a member of the HSH team started in 2010. She initially joined HSH as a legal assistant working with the medical malpractice department. She has always been devoted to advocating for individuals in different aspects of her life. Pooneh was born and raised in Iran and moved to Canada when she was 19 years old. From the moment she settled in Toronto, she devoted her time to advocate for individuals in need. While completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto, she volunteered her time at University Settlement, a non-for-profit organization helping refugees and newcomers from Iran. During law school, she was a member of the ProBono society, working as a legal advisor with the Legal Aid clinic. She has also volunteered with the British Red Cross assisting refugees from Iran and other countries. Together with her colleague, she won the award for ‘Best Advising Pair’ from the ProBono society of the faculty of law at the University of Leicester. While obtaining her LLM degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, she served as a Director with the Iranian Canadian Legal Professionals.
She is committed to help and advocate for families from both Iranian and Canadian communities. She is fluent in Farsi and is pleased to assist clients requiring communication in Farsi.
